Steph is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and holds a Bachelor of Health Science and a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics. Steph is passionate about educating patients on the importance of food on a day to day basis. Steph implements an evidence based approach and will help you to navigate your way through all of the confusing and conflicting nutrition information that is so readily available on the internet.
Believing in a patient centred approach to nutrition, Steph will provide you with individualised advice and clear direction and support so you can reach your nutritional and lifestyle goals. Steph believes that equipping patients with the right nutrition knowledge can significantly improve their health and wellbeing. Steph provides advice around sustainable nutrition, and creating habits around the day to day which will stay with you for years to come.
Steph is experienced in chronic disease management, including weight management and type 2 diabetes mellitus, eating disorder management, diverticular disease, cardiovascular health, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, mental health, osteoporosis, arthritis, nutrition support for underweight/malnourished, renal disease, coeliac disease and nutrition during oncology.
Steph works on a Wednesday afternoon at Ferry Road Physio between 1-5pm and accepts private referrals, Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) and Eating Disorder Management Plans (EDMP) from GP’s. An EPC and EDMP can be created by your GP and allows you to access up to 5 sessions with an allied health practitioner with a Medicare rebate.
What’s covered in a consultation:
- Discussion around personal goals, both short term and long term
- Discussion around social factors and other influences impeding good food choices
- Discussion around diet disease relationship and how food can help you improve your health outcomes
- Discussion about sustainable nutrition choices
- Discussion around other lifestyle changes e.g sleep, exercise.
- Increase energy levels and start to feel better about yourself
The fee structure:
New Patient: $110 (50 minutes)
Review: $90 (30 minutes)
Fee’s if you have an EPC or EDMP from your GP: $85 ($55.10 rebate from Medicare)
