Leading up to the Gold Coast Marathon, our clinic wants to provide a comprehensive and holistic service to help give all runners of all levels the opportunity to prepare themselves as best as possible for the event.
A comprehensive Gold Coast Marathon Training Program should include:
Vital to any training and event preparation is nutrition. With so much information out there, it becomes very confusing to know what is and isn’t needed to fuel your body for performance and recovery. To save confusion, our Nutritionist Tatiana can sit down with you and work out a plan that is practical and that will hugely benefit you both physically and mentally for your training and competition needs.
These Screenings are performed by our physiotherapists, and involve a thorough assessment of muscle strength and flexibility, joint range of motion, and motor control. We use this information effectively to pick up risk factors for, and set a plan of attack to reduce and prevent, injuries from training.
This involves our therapists assessing your running biomechanics, and discussing options with you to increase your running efficiency, and again decrease your risk of injury with running.
Training programs are widely available, and you may or may not currently be using one. If you have a program already our team can analyse your current training program for a second opinion and discuss any modifications if necessary. If you currently don’t have a plan, we can discuss and draw up an appropriate regime to help meet your ultimate goal.
We also offer functional training onsite at our clinic. Functional training is a form of cross-training to build up the necessary strength and conditioning required for whatever your goals may be. It is designed individually for each client to get what they want out of it.
Massage therapy is a great way to help maintain the body, keep it limber and prevent injury occurrence. Sylvia, our Myotherapist/Massage Therapist at Ferry Rd Physio and Functional Therapies can help keep you on track to meet your goals and complete your Gold Coast Marathon run !
